Welcome to my website. I am Dyonna Benett, a heritage professional, curator, and storyteller. With roots in Curaçao and the Dominican Republic, my work exists at the intersection of heritage, art, and communities.
My career began as a personal journey to explore my own identity, inspired by my mother’s migration and the passion for heritage I inherited from my grandfather. Over time, I have grown into a connector within the heritage sector, with a strong focus on inclusivity and multiperspectivity. I create space for overlooked narratives and bring together people, collections, and perspectives in ways that truly resonate. As a curator and project leader, I collaborate with institutions such as the National Maritime Museum Amsterdam , the National Archives The Hague, Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
My approach is layered and deeply rooted: I combine historical research, artistic expression, and community-driven methods to bring stories to life. To me, heritage is not just about the past—it is about how we shape the future together.
Let’s connect.
